I've been hunting since I was old enough to pump my daisy BB gun. Since then I've been fortunate enough to hunt in what I think are some of the best places in the country. At Amazing Hunts we would like to let other hunters know that there are some awesome outfitters out there; and we know because we've been there. We don't book hunts and we don't sell hunts -- we are just satisfied customers. Hunter showing hunters where to get the best value but more importantly the best opportunity. My name is Joseph Pugliese, born and raised in Mercer County, New Jersey. I started hunting with my father at the age of 12 and haven't stopped. I started travelling to different states to hunt at the age of 18, but learned right away you can't believe everything you read or are told when considering the camp you are going to. It took me several years and a lot of time and money learning this! That is why we have started this web site to help you find the hunt that's right for you. We only recommend trips that we have already hunted. There is nothing worse than a bad trip and there is nothing better than a good one. We would like to help you. This year we will be travelling to New Mexico in September, Canada in October, Illinois and Kansas in November, then New Jersey and Iowa in December; finishing off the seasons in Texas in January and Rome, PA in February.

I am just a country boy that has enjoyed hunting and fishing all of my life. I can remember standing at the door crying when my older brother began to go hunting with my dad. I also remember my dad’s best friend George Watson telling my dad to pack my stuff that I could hunt with him. I had hunted small game around the house but this was my first time in hunting camp in Union, SC where my family and friends of my fathers hunted for years. I will never forget that day. I have hunted Whitetails, Elk, Bear, Turkey and all types of game all over the USA since then. I don’t know that I have ever been more excited than that day watching the sun come up and the earth filling with life. I try to spend as many days in the field doing that very thing, in Turkey season as the sun starts up and the Gobbler’s start hammering down it is something you have to experience for yourself. I remember when I first saw hunting on TV and Videos. As I watched those guys traveling all over the world hunting places that I would only see on TV. I started hunting in the Midwest in 1999 in NE Missouri. When I saw the way that the Bucks responded to calls and hot does, I told my dad that I would never go into the field without a video camera again, not to video me and show what I could do, but to share the experiences that I encountered each day. I started to video my hunts as a hobby; well let’s just say that it has turned into a lot more than that. I have been very fortunate to have taken some great animals all over the USA. But my greatest enjoyment has been the people that this show and the outdoors have put me in contact with. Some of my greatest friends in life, I have met in hunting. I am very blessed with a great family and staff that are team players. I hope you enjoy watching Wide Open Outdoors. I would like to let you know who you’re watching, we are guys and gals that are ordinary people that work a job each day that all have a common dream.
